31st ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE LONDON PEACE PAGODA

NA MU MYO HO REN GE KYO

“OSOSHI-SAMA’S RELIGION is the movement of Rissho-ankoku to set politics aright – the movement to usher political power in the right direction without being taken in by power. There are but a few of us. Just a handful of Nipponzan’s young monks and nuns are undertaking this mission. What a marvel should we succeed! This movement is worlds apart from something like building a temple or a stupa. It is the materialisation of Ososhi-sama’s Rissho-ankoku-ron. “Then the triple world will become the Buddha Realm. How can the Buddha Realm ever decline? All the worlds in the ten directions shall transform into the Pure Land. How can the Pure Land ever be destroyed?” This is the magnitude of the outcome. This is Ososhi-sama’s prophecy that will illuminate the darkness veiling this fifth five-hundred-year period of the Era of Declining Dharma. This is what we must materialise”.

Words of the Most Venerable Nichidatsu Fujii, at Tama Dojo, Tokyo,  Dec 7, 1981.
